Usually, I can tell from the way my heart beats. I begin to slow my painting down my brush stokes somewhere along the way and then I start looking at it from a distance to see what missing. I can tell from the way my heart beats whether the piece feels genuine and exciting. It's almost as if your heart beats when you see the person you love. If I don’t get the feeling I sit on it for few days and come back to it.
No, typically don’t plan any of my art pieces. I always select the colors and sizes of my canvas. I use my intuition. I make shapes and create layers that speak to me in that moment. I love bright and vivid colors. I can usually tell if a painting is working based on the way I feel.
April Reich/MCD Co. retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold & commissioned original paintings. I retain the right to make REPRODUCTIONS OF ANY AND ALL ARTWORK I CREATE UNLESS THE CLIENT HAS PURCHASED THE FULL OR PARTIAL RIGHTS TO THE ARTWORK (this is in addition to purchasing the original).
The client or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission.
If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media I only ask for credit.
When you purchase an original painting you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business, but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.
Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing full or partial rights to your painting. Some collectors choose to purchase my right to reproduce the artwork to ensure it will never become a print.
